The summer festival held every year in this holiday resort is being held from June 1 to June 3 this year. And as per the Hindu calendar it is held in the month of Aashadh. Mount Abu was chosen as the venue of the festival which is full of fun and frolic because of the hill stations steep rocks, tranquil lakes, picturesque lakes and the pleasant climate. During the festival the place comes alive and it is visited by thousands of people from within the country and also abroad.

The most important feature of the three-day festival is the variety
of folk and classical music and this is a treat to both the eyes and the
ears of the large audiences. It also gives the visitors an insight into the
rich and traditional tribal life and culture of Rajasthan. In fact it is a
window through which one can see the traditional cultural form of the
state. The festival begins with the singing of a ballad which is followed
by Gair, ghoomar and dhap folk dances which keep the spectators enthralled
right up to the end. In fact none of them is able to get their eyes off
this marvellous spectacle.
Apart from this there are events
connected with sports such as the boat race on the beautiful Nakki lake
which is one of the chief attractions of this hill station and holiday
resort. The boat ride is another eye-catching spectacle. And when its
evening time, then comes the turn of the qawwals with their sham-e-qawwal
which is a very popular musical extravaganza. In this, renowned qawwals
from all over the country rent the air with their voices right in to the
wee hours of the morning. The festival ends with a dazzling display of
fireworks which offers yet another feast to the eyes of the tourist
