Day
01 : ArrivalArrive Delhi. Upon arrival met and transferred to your
hotel. Morning is at your leisure. Evening enjoy a dance performance by
trained artists reflecting the spirit of the danseuse, these amazingly
choreographed dances will transport you to every cultural corner of India.
Later treat your palets to the best of traditional Indian and Kashmiri
cuisine at Chore Bizarre, which is frequented by the upper crust of high
society. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 :
Full day enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi. Overnight at
the hotel.
Old Delhi Old Delhi pulses
with the energy and colour, the hustle and bustle of thronged bazaars and is
laced by a maze of narrow lanes which twist and turn between tall, leaning
houses full of the sights, sounds and aromas of the Indian sub-continent. In
Old Delhi you will see the famous Red Fort surrounded by shops, and bazaars
(built by the Emperor Shah Jehan - the builder of Taj Mahal), the Jama
Masjid mosque with its tapering minarets and wonderful marble domes, Chandni
Chowk (Old Delhi's business nerve center), the hustle-bustle of everyday
Indian life all around you and chattering voices.
New
Delhi New Delhi stands in formal splendour, like a lone sentry
guarding an outpost of a long-gone empire. It is a city of wide boulevards,
which offers everchanging perspectives of Lutyen's landscaped city. It is a
city rich with formal parks and you'll see the magnificent Parliament
Building and the Rashtrapati Bhawan (the official residence of the President
of India in the 330 acres of land and designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens), once
the awe-inspiring residence of the British Viceroys and now the Presidential
Palace, the Raj Ghat (cremation site of Mahatama Gandhi), India Gate (a
majestic 42 mts high arch, built as a memorial to the Indian Soldiers killed
in World War I), Qutab Minar (the 72.5 mts high tower dating back to 13th
century and one of the greatest bequests of Islamic Culture), Humanyun's
Tomb (built in the 16th century and architecturally the fore runner of the
Taj Mahal, has Mughal Architecture at its graceful best) and the Birla
Mandir (a large Hindu Temple built in 1938).
Day
03 : Morning depart by surface to Sariska (approx 120 kms - 3 hrs
driving time). Upon arrival check into your hotel. Afternoon enjoy a game
drive in the National Park. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
04 : Morning depart by surface to Jaipur. Upon arrival check into
your hotel. Afternoon enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the city. Overnight
at your hotel.
Jaipur - city sigtseeing
Jaipur is blessed with a wealth of wonders. Here you'll see the Hawa Mahal
(Palace of Winds) with its incredible facade of balconies and pierced
screens, the Jantar Mantar (the Observatory), and the Maharaja's City
Palace. Jaipur is a city of pink, and you'll be enchanted by the light
playing upon the buildings, creating shadows and highlighting every nuance
of the architecture.
Day 05 : Morning
enjoy a guided excursion to the Amber Fort which is ascended on elephants'
back. Afternoon is at your leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Amber
Fort Amber, built by Man Singh, embodies the Rajput belief that the
fort symbolises the strength of the King. Its commanding view, sheer walls
and rock face, and the curved route that leads to the palaces within, all
point to concern with security and defence. The fort is mirrored in Maota
Lake, which stands adjacent to the Dilaram Garden. The private apartments
begun by Man Singh in the17th century combine Hindu and Mughal styles and
the Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors), its walls covered with tiny mirrors,
becomes a dazzling fantasy with the light of a single match. Visit the Jag
Mandir or the Hall of victory, glittering with mirrors, Jai Mahal and the
Kali Temple.
Day
06 : Morning depart by surface to Agra (approx 221 kms - 5 1/2 hrs
driving time) enroute visiting Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Enjoy a rickshaw
ride in side the sanctuary to view rare species of birds, which migrate from
different places. Upon arrival check into hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 07 : Full day enjoy a sightseeing
tour of the city to include the Taj Mahal and the deserted Mughal City of
Fatehpur Sikri. Overnight at the hotel.
Agra The
Taj Mahal truly is one of the wonders of the world, and you'll see it at its
best - at sunset - just when the light, playing on the marble of the tomb
and the reflections in the stillness of the waters, presents this incredible
building in all its beauty, majesty and splendour. The Taj Mahal is a
monument of love built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen
Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. For twenty-two years 20,000 men
laboured day and night to build this masterpiece, which has held the world
awe struck ever since. Shah Jehan was imprisoned by his son in the
magnificent fort at Agra. Here you'll see the art and crafting of the white
marble that has made the area so famous, the Pearl Mosque, the halls of
Public and Private Audience, and finally the tomb of Itmad-ud-daula built by
the Empress Noorjehan in the memory of her father. Fatehpur Sikri The
deserted Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569
and abandoned after fifteen years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful
buildings including the Jama Masjid, the Tomb of Salim Chishti, the Panch
Mahal & the other palaces.
Day 08 :
Morning met and transferred to the airport in time to connect your flight to
Khajuraho. Upon arrival met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon enjoy a
guided sightseeing tour of the eastern group of temples. Overnight at the
hotel.
Khajuraho A thousand years ago,
this was the seat of the Chandela Kings who built 85 temples, of which 22
remain in eloquent testimony to the glory of the reign. The famous Chandela
Dynasty Temples built between 950 and 1050 AD immortalised in stone is a
wealth of sensuous and erotic sculptures, an exquisite depiction of human
life and emotions, equating passion with spiritual union. The sculptures
considered most perfect figures achieved in stone, depicts Gods and
Goddesses and amorous couples.
Day 09 : Morning
enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the western group of temples. Afternoon
is at your leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
10 : Morning is at your leisure. Afternoon met and transferred to
the airport in time to connect your flight to Varanasi. Upon arrival met and
transferred to your hotel Clarks Varansi for one night. Afternoon enjoy a
guided sightseeing tour of the Temple City.
Varanasi
The Holy City of Varanasi, the Religious Capital of Hinduism,
crowded with temples and its labyrinth of streets with their throngs of
people, is exciting, enticing and a city to be experienced. As a place of
devotion and worship, Varanasi attracts thousands of pilgrims every year.
The city represents the best thoughts of Vedic religion and culture. The
city sightseeing includes a visit to the Kashi Vishvanath Temple, the Bharat
Mata Mandir and the new Vishvanath temple. The Kashi Vishvanath Temple (or
the Golden Temple), is a gold spiralled temple rebuilt in the 18th century
and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The spire is covered with tones of gold
plating donated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab. Only Hindus are allowed
inside. The Bharat Mata Mandir is dedicated to Mother India and has a relief
map of "Mother India" in marble. The new Vishvanath Temple (1966)
at the Benaras Hindu University (the largest residential university in Asia
- a great seat of learning Sanskrit) is one of the tallest in India. The
marble Shiva temple modelled on the old Vishwanath temple is open to all
castes.
Day 11 : Early morning enjoy a
boat ride on the Ganges to see the devotees. Later enjoy a visit to Sarnath
where Buddha gave his first sermon. Late morning transfer to the airport to
connect your flight to Kathmandu. Own arrangements in Kathmandu. Boat Ride

uplifting sight. From dawn to dusk the riverfront (Ghats) are thronged by
thousands of devotees, who perform their holy rituals in the hope of
attaining eternal salvation, the
"NIRVANA".
Sarnath
At a distance of 12 km from Varanasi lies Sarnath where Lord Buddha
preached his first sermon after enlightenment. Here he revealed the
eight-fold path, the Buddhist Doctrine. And also here, at some distance, are
centres of Buddhist pilgrimage such as Patna, Gaya and Bodhgaya.
Day
12 :Departure Fly from Kathmandu to Delhi International airport and
stay in transit to connect your onward connection.
